Imphal, December 01, 2009: All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) set December 10 as the deadline for the government to fulfill various demands of the students' body including reservation for ST in recruitment of SOs under Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency.
A representation submitted to the Chief Minister by the ATSUM urged the government to fulfill the demands of the ATSUM by December 10 ‘without making the students' body to go to the people to launch all forms of agitations.
The ATSUM demanded ST reservation in recruitment of SOs under MSRRDA, recruitment of one Committee Officer without following reservation norms, non-implementation of reservation norms for ST in promotion of four leading firemen to Sub-officer, and the transfer f HS Verypam, i/c CE/PHED.
