churachandpur, Dec 1 : The 45th Foundation Day of Churachandpur Government College located at the heart of Lamka Town was celebrated with pomp in a programme organised for the purposed as it begun at about 11: 30 am in the college multipurpose hall

During the observation various traditional dances from different communities were showcase alongside with special numbers being presented by the college students

The program apart from others has been marked by distribution of awards to several students who are currently reading in various classes of the college , observation of condolences in remembrance of those 44 teaching and non -teaching staffs who has gone into their heavenly abode over the last 45 years with speeches from the college principal Lalremthang Tusing over and above others .

The college which has produced a great many numbers of bureaucrates , army officials , politicians and many other dignified people has a record students strength of 1886 by this years from the various streams with almost exactly the same numbers during the preceding years .

The occassion was attended as chief guest by the minister Power , Hort & Soil Constvn, SC& Tech T Phungzathang as chief guest while T Goukhenpau Ex - minister acted as the president .

During his speech the minister exhorted the students to be a God fearing and respecting parents . " Education without God is blindness " he said

"You should lead a good moral character and this is the pillar for your success "he advised while pointing out his happiness over the ability of the various people of ccpur in understanding each others even when they speak in their respective languages but regrets for the lack of understanding amongst them

Earlier the minister inaugurated the newly construted academic building for the college which have been undertaken at the total cost of Rs 64 Launder the SPA funds .
