IMPHAL, Dec 7 : Kuki Students` Organization, Khengjoy Block, Chandel District has expressed immense gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel and all the district level officers for conducting its first DLOs meeting. The meeting, the first of its kind in the block was hosted by Block Development Officer, Khengjoy T.D. block and releasing G.I. sheets under IAY Special package second phase held at Khangbarol village on December 4, stated a press release.
It further states that it has great expectation and believes that there will be a great impact from the said meeting. The KSO unit also appealed to all the concerned government departments to enact and discharge their responsibilities faithfully and bring changes in the block from backward to development.
Imphal, November 2 : The Standing Committee of the Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has dissolved the Central Cabinet of the KSO General Headquarters in toto as per article No 10 of the KSO constitution and fixed the date of election of the KSO Central Committee, a statement issued by the secretary of the KSO Standing Committee, Lunkhothang informed.
The standing committee shall hold the office of the KSO with immediate effect until a new Central Cabinet of the KSO General Headquarters is duly constituted, it stated.
The committee also retained Paotinthang Lupheng, the incumbent education secretary as its office secretary for the whole duration of KSO GHQ election.
According to the statement, nomination may be filed from November 9 to November 16 while the election date has been fixed on November 17 .
The election will be held at Kuki Inn, Imphal.
Imphal, October 30 : Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Imphal Branch has demanded clarification on the reported abduction of Thangpao Kipgen on October 27 from Leimakhong Bazar as to why he has been abducted.
A statement issued by the information secretary of KSO, Imphal D Letminthang Haokip informed that Thangpao Kipgen (25), son of (L) Lhukhokai Kipgen of Nongmaipal village, Sadar Hills was abducted by around five persons in a white colour Maruti Van (bearing registration number MNA-01-1279) from Leimakhong Bazar.
Stating that the abducted person was innocent, the KSO statement pointed out that he was going to Leimakhong to drop food items for his brothers and sisters studying at Leimakhong.
It added that Thangpao was preparing for the coming VDF recruitment.
Drawing the attention of all concerned authorities, the KSO statement urged the kidnappers to release the abducted person immediately.
Imphal, October 20 : Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Chandel and Naga Students' Union Chandel (NSUC) have urged the Tribal Development Minister to give preference to local candidates in selecting the teachers under ADC for which written examination was conducted on October 11 .
A memorandum submitted jointly by the two students' bodies has also urged the concerned minister to cancel roll numbers from 01 to 200 in the recent recruitment examination in respect to Chandel district.
The memorandum informed that the two students' bodies will look into the matter of alleged bribery and pledged to take up appropriate and necessary action against anyone found indulging in bribery - be they Ministers, MLAs, bureaucrats, or CM.
The students' bodies also warned that excess number of teachers and illegal appointment should not be committed while pointing the existence of such case in the recruitment of teachers conducted in 2006. Asserting that provisions of the RTI Act, 2005 will be used in checking answer scripts in the event of any discrepancy, the KSO and NSUC warned to launch any form of democratic agitation if the authority fails to fulfill the demands.
Churachandpur, June 7 : The KSO Henglep block is organising the Third Felicitation programme to students who passed in first division in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations on June 17 at Kangvai community hall, Churachandpur district.
The felicitation programme will be graced by T.Manga Vaiphei, circle MLA and Chairman, MTDC as the Chief Guest.
At the same time, the KSO Henglep has invited all students of Henglep subdivision who passed the HSLC and HSSLC in first division this year to submit their mark sheets accompanied by two passport size photographs before June 13 to the Education Secretary of KSO Henglep.

Imphal, May 15 : The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur district has once again reacted to the statement of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF), Manipur.
A press release entitled "KSO's rebuttal" issued today by its president Paokai Haokip and general secretary Seiboi Haokip stated that apropos the statement of the UNLF vis--vis the KSO ( CCpur) in some daily English newspapers today, the student body would like to make, and clarify a few points.
It stated KSO (Churachandpur) is a student's organization, not to be dragged into the conflict zone between the security forces and the UGs.
Indeed, it's preposterous to question the allegiance of the student body by asking and doubting its involvement in anti-social activities.
The student body neither supports nor opposes any UG group; but would never remain a mute spectator whenever and wherever excesses is committed by any group or force (s), the press release asserted.
Whenever discrimination and injustice are diabolically and systematically meted out to the Kuki people and the students in particular, the KSO would stand up to UNLF's statement boldly and oppose it tooth and nail, the press release further contended.
"Unlike the previous press statements of other UG groups, the UNLF has been distancing itself from the Kuki people as it has always interfered in the issues concerning the Kukis alone; and self-proclaimed to be so concerned about the well-being of the Kuki people.
Despite shedding crocodile's tears, the Kukis are much aware of the sinister designs and mischievous deeds of the outfit by "raping scores of Hmar women in Parbung", "mass kidnapping of innocent Kuki civilians to Myanmar"(which led to mass protest rally by Kuki students in Delhi) and "planting of landmines in the vicinity of Kuki villages", which have resulted in loss of lives and property to a great extent!".
"Regarding the unsubstantiated, alleged link between the SFs and Kuki UG groups, the KSO disputes and questions the nexus between the UNLF and the military junta of Myanmar, which has been repressing and depriving the democratic rights of the Kuki people in the Kabaw valley," president Paokai and general secretary Seiboi Haokip pointed out.
The two Kuki student leaders further said, "No wonder, that it's the UNLF who 'bribed and bought' the financially-starved Burmese Junta, thereby attacking Kuki civilians in Indo-Burma border areas a number of times".
They said ,"There would be no further press statement from the KSO (CCPur) vis-�-vis the arrest of Kh.
Megha by troops of AR which was followed by a hate-filled communal propaganda from the UNLF unlike the objective and yet, laudable statement of the RPF".
