Churachandpur, June 17 : Altogether 65 students including 40 Class X and another 16 numbers of Class XII students from 60 Singngat A/C were felicitated at Zogal Hall in a programme which commenced from about 11 am here in Churachandpur.
The students had passed in first division during the recent secondary and higher secondary level examination.
The programme was attended by parents of most of the outstanding students apart from a number of village chiefs, including the A/C MLA T Hangkhanpau who hosted and organised the programme as a continuation of the practice of former MLA of the A/C Thangso Baite, MP.
During his speech, T Hangkhanpau encouraged the students by telling them to work hard in spite of so many hardships they faced in the present and at so many times in the near future.
"You are rubbing tears of your parents by getting through Class X exams and when you have done the same again by getting through Class XII and BA, you will be a man worth to be used for the society," T Hangkhanpau said while exhorting them to further work hard and choose a line in consultation with career guides.
He gave Rs. 1500 each to all the students as a token of his appreciation and assured one memento each in the next few days.
