AMSU, DESAM for cancelling Pvt centres

Churachandpur, March 20 : Asserting that use of unfair means has been detected in some of the private centre of the ongoing class X and XII examination being conducted by the Manipur Board and the Council respectively, AMSU and DESAM have alleged that invigilators on duty in the examination centres of these private centres instead of stopping are encouraging the students in their malpractices.

Talking to mediapersons after conducting a tour of some private examination centres today, education secretary of DESAM A Thoithoi and secretary organisation of AMSU W Jamenjoy maintained that allotment of private centres has derailed the collective efforts being made by various student bodies and other concerned organisations to ensure free and fair conduct of the examination.

So DESAM and AMSU would take up the issue with the Board and the Council to cancel allotment of private centres.

Revealing the report of their finding, the student leaders informed that use of unfair means in the examination have been detected in private centres like Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School (Thoubal), Komlathabi High School (Chandel) and the private centre at Khangabok.

Among the students appearing in class XII examination from Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School, students with roll no.10991 in room no.11, roll no.10887 and roll no.10886 in room number 8 and roll no.10865 and roll no.10858 in room no.7 were found using unfair means.

At Komlathabi High Schol whre examination for class X is being held, student with rool number 20634 in room no.1, roll number 20720 in room no.3 and student with rool number 6767, 6666 and 6668 in the Khangabok private centre were not notly using unfair means but the invigilators were also giving free hands to the students.

DESAM and AMSU have also announced restriction on use of mobile phones by students upto class XII with effect from today and said any student who were found using mobile phones in defiance of the restriction imposed should be ready to bear with the consequences.
