Nagaland Varsity probe

Kohima, March 22 : The CBI has instituted a probe into the alleged anomalies afflicting Nagaland University, following a directive from President Pratibha Patil.
Sources said a team from the country’s premier investigating agency had arrived here and visited the Management and Technology Engineering College at Dimapur and the School of Agriculture at Medzhiphema.
Teachers of Nagaland University have been knocking on the Centre’s door to probe the alleged anomalies in the management of the university and the involvement of some of the officials, including the vice-chancellor, in these.
Apart from misutlisation of funds, the teachers’ association has levelled dozens of charges against vice-chancellor K. Kannan and few of his subordinates. 
The CBI has already registered a case against the university officials at its Calcutta office.
